Following its global debut last month, the new Vivid Audio Kaya loudspeaker range is now officially available worldwide, including South Africa.
The Kaya is Vivid Audio’s third speaker range, and slots in between the ultra-high end Giya line-up, and the familiar and now significantly updated Oval Series. Like the others, the Kaya is manufactured to exacting standards at Vivid Audio’s production facility in KwaZulu-Natal.
The Kaya range incorporates all the innovations and technologies that have set Vivid Audio’s speakers apart from other high-end brands, but the contemporary design adopts a more accessible aesthetic approach.
The Kaya line-up initially consists of three models. The range-topping Kaya K90 is a three-way, six-driver design with a 90-litre volume (as the designation implies). It features a composite, tapered-tube loaded reflex enclosure and side-firing woofers, together with a high-mounted midrange and tweeter. All drivers are Vivid Audio’s own, in-house produced units.
Likely to be the most popular member of the Kaya line-up is the K45, with a 45-litre volume and a more compact but no less elegant composite enclosure. The three-way, four-driver speaker also features side-firing woofers.
For those with smaller listening spaces requiring a more compact speaker, the Kaya K25 offers a two-way, two-driver design. Due to be introduced at a later stage are a compact bookshelf/surround model, and a centre channel – ideal for those seeking a Kaya-based multichannel solution.
The Kaya range is offered in three standard finishes – Piano Black, Pearl White and Matt Oyster – while special finishes can be ordered at extra cost. The K90 retails for R320 000 a pair, with the K45 and K25 are priced at R220 000 and R120 000 a pair respectively. Vivid Audio is distributed in SA through a 10-strong national network of approved dealers.
Orders are now open, with delivery time six to eight weeks.
