German turntable marque Clearaudio has released a new tonearm. The Tracer combines the brand’s reputation for simply elegant aesthetics with fine engineering, and promises a high degree of sonic honesty.
The Tracer features a rigid but lightweight carbon tonearm tube with an aluminium headshell offering integrated azimuth adjustment. The arm’s low-friction bearing using a mix of tungsten and sapphire. An underslung counterweight ensures a low centre of gravity, while anti-skating is conveniently dial-adjusted.
The 9-inch Tracer offers a cartridge balance range of 3 – 17 grams, weighs 363 grams including the counterweights, and employs the same 24,85 mm mounting aperture as other Clearaudio tonearms.
