Ringo Starr rules at Pro-Ject

Another week, another limited-edition, artist-inspired turntable from Austrian audio company Pro-Ject.

The turntable features a colour scheme as flamboyant as the ex-Beatles drummer it’s named after. That’s not surprising, considering the collage of peace signs and circular patterns that graces the plinth was designed by Starr himself.

To make sure the artwork is as visible as possible, the turntable is fitted with an upgraded, translucent acrylic platter.

The Peace And Love deck is based on Pro-Ject’s Essential III, which means it features a belt-drive system, an acoustically inert MDF plinth mounted on decoupling feet, and a low-tolerance platter bearing with stainless steel spindle.

The Ringo Starr ‘Peace And Love’ turntable is the latest in a series of Beatles-themed record decks, and commemorates three decades of Ringo Starr and his All-Star Band, which continues to tour worldwide.

The straight, 8,6-inch tonearm is equipped with sapphire bearings and comes fitted with an Ortofon OM10 moving-magnet cartridge as standard. Pro-Ject also includes a quality phono interconnect, and a hinged dust cover.
