For decades, Neumann has been synonymous with top-class studio microphones. Now the iconic brand is broadening its horizons with its first pro headphone.
The NDH20 is a closed-back headphone engineered to deliver high-resolution audio and a carefully balanced sound image, Neumann claims. Of note is an exceptionally flat frequency response and a natural stereo image, making the NDH20 suitable for both mixing and monitoring duties.
The new headphone is fitted with purpose-developed 38 mm driver featuring high-gauss neodymium magnets for optimised sensitivity and low distortion.
It’s been designed to deliver excellent sonic performance without the need for a dedicated headphone amp, so the Neumann should deliver the goods, even when plugged into a smartphone or laptop.
The construction is as classy as the brand: a flexible spring steel headband combines with lightweight, machined aluminium earcups trimmed with microfibre-covered memory foam earpads. The NHD20 is also foldable in the interests of convenient foldability.
