When it comes to television sets, picture quality tends to be prioritised ahead of audio most of the time. But a new partnership between Philips TV and speaker marque Bowers & Wilkins aims to change that trend.
The multi-year partnership was announced last month, with the two companies committed to setting new reference visual and audio performance standards for TV sets. Both parties will contribute their extensive R&D capability and bespoke technologies.
Philips TV hopes that a specific focus on audio quality will serve to further elevate its high-end TV sets, while Bowers & Wilkins considers the arrangement as an effective way to introduce the brand to a new consumer audience.
The first products showcasing the new partnership between the two companies will be unveiled at the IFA Show in Berlin later this year.
